     An old Italian legend has it that Befana visits homes every year on Epiphany Eve and makes presents for children.
     This is a heart-touching story by Gianni Rodari about an old lady Befana who owns a toy store. The toys watch the hum of the snowy town standing on the windowpane – obedient to their fate and the will of the whimsical shopkeeper.
